How To Be A Member

TECHNICIANS

All graduates holding a First Degree in Architecture having completed architectural training in any institution or scheme recognised by the Malawi Government, but do not qualify to undergo for professional training and who, having submitted an application on the Institute’s prescribed form, upon being proposed and seconded by full members, are elected by a resolution of the Council as non-voting members, provided that they shall not be considered full members.

PRACTICE MEMBERS

All graduates having completed architectural studies in any institution or scheme recognised by the Malawi Government, and qualify to undergo for professional training as prescribed by the BOARD and who, having submitted an application on the Institute’s prescribed form, upon being proposed and seconded by full members, are elected by a resolution of the Council as non-voting members, provided that they shall not be considered full members.

PRACTICE MEMBERS

All architectural firms which are registered under the provisions of the National Construction Industry Council Consultants Act (Cap. 53:05) and which, having submitted an application on the Institute’s prescribed form, upon being proposed and seconded by full members, not being members or the said practice, are elected by a resolution of the Council.

ELECTED MEMBERS

All architects who are registered under the provision of the Act and who, having submitted an application on the Institute’s prescribed form, upon being proposed and seconded by full members, are elected by a resolution of the Council.
