How To Become An Elected Member

All architects who are registered under the provision of the Act.

To qualify as elected member, a candidate shall have:
i) Been an employee of a professional practice; or of a public office or educational body or be otherwise engaged in the work of an architect, under the supervision of an Architect for a minimum of 2 years; and
ii) Passed the relevant qualifying examinations as prescribed in appendix 1; and
iii) Been eligible for registration by the Board of Architects and Quantity Surveyors
iv) An elected member must hold a university degree in Architecture from a recognized institution or its equivalent followed by the relevant professional practice examination.

Every Elected member shall be entitled to use after his or her name the initials M.M.I.A i.e, Member of the Malawi Institute of Architects
